Video over Network & Web devices such as a network camera, network cameras or video server can be attached to a LAN (local area network) or WAN (wide are network). A network camera plugs into a LAN and is viewed usually using a browser. A video server is a device to which one or more video sources can be attached. Viewing is done using a web browser or in some cases supplied software. These products also allow the upload of images to the internet or direct viewing from the internet. Some products have a built in web server.
