The Geneseo Police Department is turning to wireless technology so that
officers can spend more time on patrol and less time doing paperwork.
Some of the patrol cars are now equipped with wireless broadband network.
The system allows officers to access police records, programs, files and mug
shots directly from their laptops.
It will increase the efficiency of the project. In the future Geneseo hopes
the investment allows village business to also use the wireless network.
the Geneseo Police Department covers about three square miles. The
department employs six fll-time officers.
